Awards season is upon us and we are extremely honored and excited to find out today that we have won the 2016 Ethos Jury Award from Social Impact Media Awards! SIMA's mission is to advance global awareness, social justice, human rights, and humanitarian development by catalyzing creative works of visual storytelling that inspire activism, compassion and social transformation.
What a weekend in Ottawa! Omo Child: The River and the Bush won two awards, Best Feature Film and we are so proud to announce that Eric Poline won an award for Best Original Music. Everyone on the team here is thrilled to win the awards but we are so proud of Eric and the job he did on the score for the film. It is wonderful to have him recognized. We are all a little bit in shock today! There were a lot of really good doc's screening at the Middlebury New Filmmaker's Festival and we are really humbled to be taking home Best Doc. Best part is we get to keep this guy. Say hello to "The VTeddy". We love it! Thank you Middlebury, what a great festival and a beautiful town.
It is always interesting to see where the film is going to land next. This time it is Lunenburg, Nova Scotia! A beautiful pictruesque harbor town on the east coast of Nova Scotia that also has a serious love of documentary film. We are excited to take part in this documentary only festival (our kind of festival!) and looking forward to attending! Thank you Lunenburg. See you soon.
Excited to announce we won the Audience Choice for Best Film at the Real to Reel International Film Festival! We love the audience choice awards! Thank you Real to Reel.
It is particularly special to find out we are an official selection for a Southern California film festival as that is where the whole crew is based. So we are very honored to be an official selection for the Oceanside International Film Festival! We will be screening Saturday August 15th at 11:15 am at the historic Star Theatre on Coast Highway. We are really looking forward to attending as the whole crew can be in attendance. Should be a great day, hope you can join us.
We are all proud to be "first time" filmmakers here and we are excited for the Middlebury New Filmmaker Festival in beautiful and scenic Middlebury Vermont in August. The festival runs from August 27th-30th. We don't have our screen date yet but will update our screenings list when we do! Hope to see you there.
