We are all a little bit in shock today! There were a lot of really good doc's screening at the Middlebury New Filmmaker's Festival and we are really humbled to be taking home Best Doc. Best part is we get to keep this guy. Say hello to "The VTeddy". We love it! Thank you Middlebury, what a great festival and a beautiful town.
It is always interesting to see where the film is going to land next. This time it is Lunenburg, Nova Scotia! A beautiful pictruesque harbor town on the east coast of Nova Scotia that also has a serious love of documentary film. We are excited to take part in this documentary only festival (our kind of festival!) and looking forward to attending! Thank you Lunenburg. See you soon.
It's incredible to think that the year is already more then half over! What an amazing 7 months it's been for Omo Child: The River and the Bush. To date we have been selected for 23 Film Festivals around the globe. Most have been in the United States but we are very proud to have made our International Premiere in April at the 2015 HotDocs Festival in Toronto and even more proud to have received the "Top Ten Audience Award". We will be in Europe and other international locations soon so please stay tuned for more on that. We have won 9 awards from Best Documentary, Best Cinematograph
We are all proud to be "first time" filmmakers here and we are excited for the Middlebury New Filmmaker Festival in beautiful and scenic Middlebury Vermont in August. The festival runs from August 27th-30th. We don't have our screen date yet but will update our screenings list when we do! Hope to see you there.
Before this festival season is over we are going to reach every corner of the country (and hopefully world!). Today we got some good news, we will be screening in the northeast at the Maine International Film Festival in July. The festival runs from July 10th to July 19th and we have two screen times. Join us if you can on Saturday July 11th or Sunday July 19th. Here is a MIFF to our page on their website so you can buy tickets and see the entire line up of films.
It's official! We finished in the top ten for the Audience Award at HotDocs (#8). What an incredible honor. It is always nice to win an award but there is something special about receiving this award for everyone here. To know that out of 210 films at one of the world's premier documentary festivals the audience appreciated our film this much is something very special. Thank you HotDocs! Thank you Toronto!
We are really excited about being selected for the Newport Beach Film Festival! For the whole crew this really means a lot. Everyone who worked on the film is based in southern California and we can't wait to make our California premiere at Newport Beach Film Festival. The film continues to make headway on the festival circuit and we are just so proud! Thank you Newport Beach. Will be screening April 27th at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there.
Looks like we will be headed to the Sierra Nevada's. What a beautiful setting for a film festival, honored and proud to be part of the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival! The festival runs from May 27th - to May 31st. Our screen date and time will be May 28th at 7:30. Thank you Mammoth Lakes.
What a wonderful honor, we are proud to be taking part in the Arizona State University Human Rights Film Festival! The festival takes place at the Armstrong Hall - Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law and our screen date and time is April 18th at 2:00pm.
